Current World Affairs is a year long class specifically examining recent global events over the past 10 years. Designed to equip students with an understanding of the world as it currently is before graduating. This course will touch on macro-economics, international relations, and social studies as part of the curriculum.

A once-a-week class, designed in a seminar format to promote critical thinking and analysis. Students will need to engage the news on a weekly basis, both to be aware of current events, and to learn how to evaluate what they are reading. Particular focus will be given to the role of the US in world affairs, as well as an examination of determining moral and ethical responses to current world problems from a Christian foundation. Classes will alternate between a biweekly current events chat led by Glenn Bertsch and  a directed discussion and seminar led by Joel Grewe. Assignments and reading will be provided but evaluation and grading, if desired, will be up to the parents.
